Count the seats you will actually sit in
Five seats means the driver and four passengers, one of them in a middle seat. Two adults and two children travel well like that. Two adults and three children manage ten minutes and regret it by Troodos.

Stack the luggage before you stack the people
A family estate keeps its boot whatever you do with the seats, which is why four people with four cases should think twice before upgrading. A minivan with all seven seats raised gives you the row or the boot, rarely both.

Name the drives you are really doing
Coral Bay is about 12 km north-west, Petra tou Romiou about 25 km east on the B6, Troodos an hour and a half of climbing. Space matters in proportion to hours spent in it.

Ask the accommodation before you book the car. A hotel with its own bays makes the size question disappear. A room in the old town with street parking makes it the biggest question on this page.

The pattern that works here is to drive out and back rather than in and out. Accommodation with its own parking settles the size question for good.
Two pedals, the left-hand side, and the car coming to you
Cyprus drives on the left. Roundabouts turn clockwise, and the limits are 100 on the motorway, 80 on the open road and 50 in town, with an alcohol limit of 0.05%. None of it is difficult, only unfamiliar, and unfamiliar weighs more with children in the back asking how long is left.

Child seats travel with the booking, not with the car
No hire car arrives with child seats already fitted. They are an extra the supplier adds to your reservation and brings to the handover, so the only reliable moment to ask is while you are booking, not at the desk.
Give ages rather than descriptions: an eighteen-month-old, a four-year-old and an eight-year-old need three different pieces of equipment. Say so too if you are flying with your own seat, because it takes boot space the supplier had counted as yours.
