What Paphos Rides is

Paphos Rides, of Poseidonos Avenue 24, Kato Paphos, 8042 Paphos, Cyprus, publishes paphosdrive.com. The site is a comparison and referral service: it lists the cars that independent rental companies operate in and around Paphos, lets you filter and compare them, and passes your booking request to the company you choose. Paphos Rides is not a rental company. It owns no vehicles and runs no rental desk.

These terms cover your use of the website and end where the rental agreement starts; on the hire itself, the supplier's contract prevails.

Who your contract is with

Choosing a car sends the supplier that operates it your hire dates, the vehicle you picked and a way to contact you. The supplier confirms the car, sets the deposit and the excess, and issues your pickup reference. The resulting agreement is between you and that supplier alone. Paphos Rides stands outside it and cannot alter anything in it.

You pay nothing to use this site. When a rental that began here is completed, the supplier pays Paphos Rides a commission from its own marketing spend. It is not added to your price and does not affect the listing order.

Prices and availability come from a live feed

The rate, the fuel policy, the mileage allowance, the deposit and the specification you see beside a car are all read from the supplier's live feed as the page loads. Rates move with the season and with how many cars are left, so a figure from an hour ago may be gone and a condition may have been revised without notice to us.

What binds you is the price and the conditions the supplier confirms when you book, not what an earlier results page showed. Photographs illustrate a vehicle class, not the exact car you will receive.

What you are responsible for

Cyprus drives on the left, and roundabouts are taken clockwise. This site states that as a fact, and being able to drive safely on the left is your responsibility, not the supplier's and not ours. If you have never done it, read our guide to driving on the left before you collect the car, and note that almost every car listed here is an automatic for exactly this reason.

Each supplier also sets its own conditions on licence, age, identification and payment method; meeting them, and giving accurate details, is up to you. A supplier can refuse the car when the documents do not match the booking, and no refund follows.

Changing or cancelling

Rules on amending or cancelling belong to each supplier and differ between listings, so check the ones shown with a car before confirming it. Afterwards, changes go through the supplier itself, quoting your voucher reference, and whether a refund is due is its decision under its own terms.

Limits on our liability

We make reasonable efforts to keep what is listed accurate and to pass booking requests on promptly, but we do not inspect vehicles, employ the people who hand them over, or set prices and conditions. A cancelled reservation, a car unlike its description, a damage charge you contest or a late deposit refund is a matter between you and the supplier.

So far as Cypriot and European law permits, Paphos Rides answers only for direct loss that our own negligence caused in connection with this website. Indirect and consequential losses fall outside that, among them a flight missed at Paphos airport or a hotel night lost. Nothing here excludes a liability the law does not allow us to exclude, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

Acceptable use and reviews

Do not scrape the listings, run automated queries against the search, submit booking details you know to be false, or put the enquiry or review forms to any unlawful, abusive or commercial purpose. We may restrict access from any source that misuses the site. A review must describe a hire you personally took, cannot be written for a supplier or a competitor, and may be published, shortened or removed by us without payment.

Intellectual property

Unless a page states otherwise, Paphos Rides owns the text, comparisons, guides, layout and code that make up paphosdrive.com. Reading and printing pages for your own use is fine; republishing them needs our written consent. Supplier names, logos and car photographs stay with the rental companies they came from.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction over any dispute that arises from them or from your use of the site. If you are a consumer living in another member state of the European Union, this choice does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim there.

Changes to these terms, and contact

These terms change as the site grows and as our arrangements with suppliers change. A revised version applies from the date shown beneath the title, and using the site after that date is how you accept it.
